PULAU BRANI  SINGAPORE HERITAGEFEST EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

On 24 May 2026, SHS conducted its inaugural boat tour and private dining event, themed around the communities and lived experiences of the former residents of Pulau Brani. This event was held as part of Singapore HeritageFest 2026, and is representative of our continued commitment to advocating and promoting the heritage of Pulau Brani.

Our guests gathered for a guided boat tour that took them from Marina at Keppel Bay on a round-tour around Sentosa and St John’s Island. As guests got to experience Singapore’s southern shorelines, members/descendants of the Brani islanders led an intimate storytelling session to give context of Brani life and how their life experiences and memories had been shaped by these shorelines. After the tour, our guests enjoyed an interactive dinner – where they sampled dishes prepared by the Brani islanders and learned more about the typical ingredients and foods that the community ate regularly.

We wish to thank every guest attendee and Brani islander/community member for making the event possible. It is with their participation that Brani’s heritage is not only publicly promoted, but also remembered by ever-more people.
